During stressful times like these, even the most optimistic among us may find it difficult to stay positive.
But it is during tough times that it is even more critical that we work hard to keep a positive attitude.
Physical, mental and emotional health are closely connected, and I would like to share with you 10 Ideas to Stay Positive even when things are crazy around you.
• Exercise – walk, run, ride, lift…whatever you like to do…it works like magic
• Take a break from the news - while it’s good to stay informed, most of it is negative and that can drag you down
• Proactively seek content from positive sources - check out Pass it On and Good News Network
• Stay connected (or re-connect) with friends and family – one of the advantages of technology
• Thank someone that has helped you – for me this list is long, but I did want to send a shout out to Captain Dan and my Bootcamp buddies
• Turn off technology and go outside – take advantage of the nice Spring weather
• Be productive – Create a list every day and get it done, try something new, help someone
• Pray, meditate, reflect, be thankful – just a few minutes a day can go along way
• Laugh – tell funny stories (there are lots of these for those that have kids at home!), share funny pictures, watch the Comedy Channel or funny You Tube videos
• Don’t forget to see the positive side of this situation – this is an opportunity to re-focus and realize what is important in life
Remember that the whole world is facing the same crisis. You are not alone. Stay strong but if you need help, do not be embarrassed to reach out to your family, friends, and neighbors. Everyone needs help at some point in their life.
We will get through this by working together and helping each other.
