I had the good fortune of attending 2 events over the last several days that really clarified why what we do is important and why you want to invest in apparel for your team.
Last Thursday, the Orioles clinched the AL East…their first division title since 2014. They also won their 100th game for the 6th time in franchise history. Both are impressive milestones considering they lost 110 games just 2 years ago. They continue their magical season this Saturday at home with Game 1 of the ALDS.
Also, this past Saturday, I had the privilege of helping a dear friend who has ALS and her family with their annual cornhole fundraiser. What an amazing day of love, fun, and teamwork to support such a strong woman who has maintained an incredibly positive attitude under tough circumstances.
At the O’s game, almost every person had something on that was orange, black or white…a Henderson, Rutschman, Murray or Robinson jersey…all kind of caps…crazy outfits and Hawaiian shirts in the Splash Zone.
At Kathy’s Cornhole event, everyone was looking good in their new Kathy’s Krew navy Bella Canvas t-shirts while they played cornhole, caught up with family and friends, or enjoyed an adult beverage or two.
What I saw at each of these events was not just a person in a jersey or a t-shirt.
What I saw at these events was a community united in rooting for their local team.
What I saw at these events was a family pulling in the same direction for a great person and a great cause.
What I saw were people belonging…people connected by the colors that they were wearing.
